Wow, its no wonder that Hypnosis is so misunderstood... I mean seriously the dictionary ( says that? good grief Charlie Brown.

So what is hypnosis? It is essentially the hyper critical focusing of the mind inward on itself. In other words, Its you turning your mind inward much like you do when you are imagining, creating, contemplating and such, but to such a degree that you can create change at a very deep level of the mindset.

My definition of the mind; Three levels of consciousness, the outer mind, the "Conscious Mind" that which you are using right now reading, thinking, considering etc... the "Inner Mind" or the subconscious the memories, our core beliefs, all of our experiences and influences stored, saved and built into the structure that is our core selves. and finally the "Unconscious Mind" the part of our system that takes care of breathing, blood flow, cell replacement, all of the autonomous systems that we do not control in real time.

With that now we can begin to define what hypnosis is, Between the two layers, the conscious mind and the subconscious mind is what we call the critical factor, that part of our minds that evaluates a condition and decides if we will allow that experience to be recorded in our subconscious, the quantum computer, our databank if you will. Hypnosis is our ability to enter into a hyper-focused state of mind that by passes with purpose that critical factor, so in short turning off the firewall and allowing new data to be entered into the psyche directly by ourselves.
